[Data obtained from the IUCN Red List.] Endangered (EN) This species is known to occur in Nosy be (Lokobe reserve) and in Ankarafa (recently discovered) and Anabohazo forests (in Sahamalaza peninsula). It is a species that can cope with soem habitat alteration but its presence is strictly linked with the presence of streams. In Nosy be sremains a locally abudant species, in Sahamalaza, recent surveys show that it is only infrequently encountered, thi sis most probably due to the high rate of habitat alteration taht are affecting this site in norther Madagascar (although in theory is a protected area). Changed from VU to EN by D. Edmonds 2019 based on current Red List status on IUCN website
